EDITORIALS REGARDING BUSH'S ESTABLISHMENT

OF FASCISM IN THE UNITED STATES

A Regime That Hates Democracy Can't Wage War

for Democracy

George W. Bush says he wants to attack Iraq to install democracy. But as he

explained on December 18, 2002: "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a

lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."

Under Bush the Constitutional guarantees that have made America a beacon to the

world for two centuries have been shredded in two short years.

In terms of basic legal rights and sanctuary from government spying, Americans

may be less free under George W. Bush than as British subjects under George III in 1776.

White (Phosphorous) Christmas

White (Phosphorous) Christmas
By Gabriele Zamparini (*)

“(…) the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper

strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive

simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie,

since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort

to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths,

and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so

infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to

their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be

some other explanation.” - Adolf Hitler (1)

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the

political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important

for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of

the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels (2)

Judging from our leaders and mainstream media, it seems these two gentlemen above didn’t die in vain.

'President Bush's flirtation with fascism'

Bill Gallagher, Niagara Falls Reporter

DETROIT -- The regime has already produced so many ignominious legacies

that historians in the near future will be able to feast on the task of measuring the

damage from the wretched deeds the Busheviks have wrought.

Certainly, the unnecessary pre-emptive war in Iraq, sold with lies, will echo for

generations as a symbol of America's failed experiment in empire cloaked as

proselytizing democracy. Our actions in Iraq have created a terrorist breeding-ground

that makes George W. Bush the greatest friend al-Qaeda leaders will ever have.

Unsustainable budget deficits used to fund tax cuts for the rich and create fiscal havoc

will be a legacy that will leave our children with an unconscionable burden. Slashing

programs for the poor will do the obvious: create more poverty and more misery for

people living on the margins, especially children.

Why Our Military Despises Donald Rumsfeld

by Ralph Nader

Published on Saturday, December 31, 2005 by
CommonDreams.org

Civilian control over the military is a long established
democratic tradition in our country. It was the military
that was believed by our founding fathers to be
susceptible to plunging our country into foreign
adventure. Presently, however, the boondoggles, crimes
and recklessness of draft-dodging George W. Bush, Dick
Cheney and former Air Force pilot, Donald Rumsfeld,
together with their draft-dodging neo-con associates,
have turned this expectation upside down. The civilians
are the war-mongers.

Probably the least told story of the Iraq war-quagmire is
the extent to which the Pentagon military, especially the
U.S. Army brass, disagrees with and despises these
civilian superiors. Donald Rumsfeld, one of the most
disliked of the Secretaries of Defense, has spent much
energy making sure that high level dissent in the
military is muzzled and overlayered by his loyalists.

Tim Abbott is a Vietnam veteran who lives in the Southwestern Virginia town

of Hillsville, a conservative, blue-collar community that tends to vote Republican

and bleed red, white and blue.

But, like an increasing number of veterans, Abbott is fed up with President

George W. Bush.

How to spot a Fraudulent Christian

Greetings to all members,

I am not sure how many of you know this, but Jeff Rense posted the US War Crimes

email update on his website in its entirety.  We have been deluged by email from people

that we have never heard from that are responding to that article.  http://www.rense.com/general69/eng.htm

I have been on Jeff’s radio show twice and both times we rocked America with what

we discussed and disclosed to his large audience.

Part of our re-focus will be to address one of the biggest problems I see in America.

That being the blind and immoral support by Christians for US government policies

that are pure sin and have no Christian virtues whatsoever.  The biggest problems I see

in and outside of DC are the Neocons, the Zionist, the greed, and blind Christians that

cannot seem to discern between Christian values and pure sin.  Since most Christians are

outside of DC, they are the biggest problem in the electorate because they have been duped

into supporting this government and current Administration.  Let me re-phrase that, some

of them have been duped and others sold out.

Ex-intel Official: Bush Admin Will Restrict Liberties

After Next Terror Attack

North Jersey Media/RICHARD COWEN | November 13 2005

MAPLEWOOD - The man who leaked thousands of pages of top secret documents

to the media in 1971 to expose the U.S. government's handling of the Vietnam War

warned Saturday that another terrorist attack could permanently damage civil liberties.

Jimmy Carter: This isn't the real America
Posted on Tuesday, November 15 @ 10:00:04 EST

Jimmy Carter

IN RECENT YEARS, I have become increasingly concerned by a host of radical

government policies that now threaten many basic principles espoused by all previous

administrations, Democratic and Republican.

These include the rudimentary American commitment to peace, economic and social

justice, civil liberties, our environment and human rights.

Also endangered are our historic commitments to providing citizens with truthful

information, treating dissenting voices and beliefs with respect, state and local autonomy

and fiscal responsibility.

At the same time, our political leaders have declared independence from the restraints

of international organizations and have disavowed long-standing global agreements —

including agreements on nuclear arms, control of biological weapons and the international

system of justice.

So this is what " freedom" tastes like

Brian Morton

So this is what " freedom" tastes like! The Bush administration sold us on its

competence and its can-do spirit and the great taste of freedom, and now we

know what it really means--everyone gets a brand-new pony!

Honestly, it's never felt better to be an American. Just last week we found out

that the United States is holding prisoners in secret camps in Poland and Romania

in order to interrogate al-Qaida suspects outside the reach and purview of the Red

Cross or the Geneva Conventions. The Financial Times named the former eastern

bloc countries in a Nov. 2 story after The Washington Post, which originally broke

the story, refused to name the countries as part of an agreement with the government.

America heading toward feudal fascism
Date: Thursday, October 27 @ 10:08:12 EDT
Topic: Commander-In-Thief

Signs of America's devolution into a feudal/fascist/military state are everywhere;

including the rather inconspicuous occurrence of these themes together in at least three

articles I've read at www.SmirkingChimp.com in the past few weeks. A clear pattern

began emerging during the Reagan/Bush I years, continued almost unabated under Clinton

(although it was disguised a little better), but has now, under BushCo, become brazen and

accepted public policy; so in-your-face, you can't help but see it -- providing you're looking.

Here are some of the more obvious indicators.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Real George W.  Bush

By Stephen Pizzo, News for Real

Posted on  October 27, 2005, Printed on October 29,  2005

For three more years America is going to be led by not just a lame duck
president, but a totally discredited president.
In a poll  conducted Oct 21-23 and released on Tuesday, 90 percent of those asked said they  believed
top Bush administration officials are guilty of either illegal or  unethical
behavior in the CIA leak case.
So where does that leave an un-indicted George W. Bush?

Ten Lessons from Bush Presidency

1. Religious fanatics are now the number one threat to the planet Earth.

2. Evangelicals no more speak for Christianity than ultra right wing Zionists

speak for the Jewish community. And clearly it's a desecration to confuse

the Prophet Mohammed with psychopathic terrorists.

..and eight more lessons.

Harper's Magazine: We Now Live in a Fascist State

Date: Tue, 11 Oct 2005 13:34:38 -0700

The article below appears in the current issue of Harpers and was written
by Lewis H. Lapham

Knowing the source of this piece makes it all the more disturbing. It is not every day that the editor of a respected national magazine publishes an essay claiming that America is not on the road to becoming, but ALREADY IS, a fascist state.... or words to that affect.

To help prepare you for what follows, here are the final sentence from this piece.... [I think we can look forward with confidence to character-building bankruptcies, picturesque bread riots, thrilling cavalcades of splendidly costumed motorcycle police.]

____________________________________________________________________________

Drunk on power, the Republican oligarchs overreached. Now their entire project could be doomed.

For 30 years, beginning with the Nixon presidency, advanced under Reagan, stalled with the elder Bush, a new political economy struggled to be born. The idea was pure and simple: centralization of power in the hands of the Republican Party would ensure that it never lost it again. Under George W. Bush, this new system reached its apotheosis. It is a radically novel social, political and economic formation that deserves study alongside capitalism and socialism. Neither Adam Smith nor Vladimir Lenin captures its essence, though it has far more elements of Leninist democratic-centralism than Smithian free markets. Some have referred to this model as crony capitalism; others compare the waste, extravagance and greed to the Gilded Age. Call it 21st century Republicanism.

At its heart the system is plagued by corruption, an often unpleasant peripheral expense that greases its wheels. But now multiple scandals engulfing Republicans - from suspended House Majority Leader Tom DeLay to super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff to White House political overlord Karl Rove - threaten to upend the system. Because it is organized by politics it can be undone by politics. Politics has been the greatest strength of Republicanism, but it has become its greatest vulnerability.
